    Amazing breakout

Posted by Asja Powys-Smith on 22nd Oct 2018

This breakout has truly got me inspired to search for light and connection in an image that would take my photography to the next level. I couldn't recommend it more highly :) Thank you Dana!

I am just a couple of videos shy of having completed the material. I have to say, you’ve taken the ordinary and made it extraordinary. The video’s build upon themselves very well from your shooting technique to your outcome and the overall edit seems to explain all the “why” behind the entire process. I am not a Lightroom user because frankly, I’ve found it intimidating and didn’t think I had as much control within the program as I do PS, you’ve simplified it to where it’s possible to maybe even become a convert. Where other artists aim for pure perfection you’ve admitted and shown the reality of fine tuning, and sometimes unintentional settings, I’m thankful for your showing that because it made teachable moments and made you realistic. THANK YOU FOR BEING NORMAL! IT MADE ME FEEL NORMAL, I sit in regret of some of the images I have washed up to being nothing when I really didn’t have the tools and knowledge in how to make them extraordinary. I look froward to what you offer in the future to further educate the community.

    I am loving the breakout.

My favorite part so far is the part on “perfectionism” it really spoke to me and I needed that .I don’t post near as many pictures as I take because of this. It give me a new sense of freedom in knowing that it doesn’t have to be perfect and to not be afraid, that others wont like it or see my vision in the photograph. When it really comes down to it, every photo I take is ultimately for me I’m just sharing myself through my photos with everyone else. If they love it and it evokes some sort of feeling in them great…if not it still means the world to me! As you mentioned Dana I too am drawn more towards the imperfect when looking at others pictures, it seems to evoke a more “real” feeling. Thanks Dana so much for reminding me of why I love photography and to not be afraid of being “imperfect”. Looking forward to more from you!

The pdf and videos are jam-packed full of information (not to mention gorgeous inspiration)! and Dana is so helpful and encouraging in the live breakout forum! And the price of the breakout is amazing for all that it includes! I know I’ll be referring back to the material again and again!
